The Chevrolet Traverse offers an interesting mix of interior space, capable performance and technology. In fact, the 2023 version of the Chevrolet Traverse is one of the leaders in the three-row crossover SUV segment, drawing high praise from independent online automotive experts for all of those reasons and more. Our manufacturing partner has made a few changes and additions to the 2023 Chevy Traverse, including a couple of new colour options (Radiant Red Tintcoat and Sterling Grey Metalic) and some updated accent pieces on a few trim grades. Follow along with Gord Anderson GM, while we take a closer look.
Interior Design & Passenger Space
Massive Cargo Dimensions
By virtue of being a three-row vehicle, the 2023 Chevrolet Traverse has a lot of interior space to offer. When the two rear rows of seats are folded down, the vehicle can hold up to 2,781 litres of cargo. Making the second-row available for passengers will allow up to 1,637 litres of cargo volume. A configuration with all three rows in place will still have 651 liters of cargo volume to offer.
Comfortable Seating Options
Among the many reasons people choose the Traverse is its massive passenger cabin and its three rows of seats. Most trim grades offer space for seven passengers, with the entry-level LS trim being available with two rows of rear bench seats, bringing the seating capacity up to eight people.
Adaptable Interior Features
All three-row SUVs have struggled to allow people to access the rear-most seat. Chevrolet engineers have largely solved this problem by employing the second-row Smart Slide Seat that will make it easier for people to enter and exit the third row.
Technology
Advanced Infotainment System
Every 2023 Chevrolet Traverse available at Gord Anderson GM is equipped with an advanced infotainment system that will control the vehicle’s multimedia functions. The latest Traverse can be equipped with either a 7- or 8-inch touchscreen. A native navigation application app is also available on some systems.
Smart Device Integration
The ability to work with other devices is one of the hallmarks of a truly advanced infotainment system. Access to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is standard equipment. Additionally, the two suites of smartphone apps can connect to the vehicle wirelessly. Amazon Alexa and a Wi-Fi hotspot are also available.
Active Safety Systems
Families flock to the Chevrolet Traverse for a lot of reasons. The suite of active safety systems helps drivers protect their passengers by keeping them away from potentially dangerous situations. Each 2023 Traverse is equipped with:
- Automatic Emergency Braking
- Front Pedestrian Braking
- Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
- Following Distance Indicator
- Forward Collision Alert
- IntelliBeam Headlights
Performance
Single Engine Option
Our manufacturing partner has streamlined the available engine options to a single platform, a naturally aspirated 3.6-litre, V-6 powerplant, making 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission is standard equipment on all 2023 Traverse trim grades.
Towing Capacity
While the interior of the 2023 Chevrolet Traverse is among the largest in its class, the crossover SUV can also offer an impressive towing capacity. When the available towing package is equipped on the latest Traverse, the crossover SUV can pull up to 2,268 kg.
Selectable Driving Modes
Weather and road conditions can change suddenly and without warning. The available Driver Mode Selector allows the person behind the wheel to adjust traction control settings by simply moving a dial. The available selectable driving modes include:
- Front-Wheel Drive
- Standard All-Wheel Drive
- Off-Road
- Towing & Hauling
